Capri Communities’ 3rd annual Enjoy Life Active Aging Symposium will take place on Wednesday, June 4 from 8:30am – 3:00pm at Elmbrook Church. This FREE and uplifting annual senior event encourages older adults to get involved, try new things and live life to the fullest, whatever that may mean to them.

The Enjoy Life Active Aging Symposium features dynamic speakers, ‘enjoy life’ exhibitors, interactive activities, music, raffles, food and plenty of other fun surprises! Capri’s VP of Marketing, Kim Irwin, says, “In a world that can often have too much negative noise, the Enjoy Life Active Aging Symposium is a day of positivity and fun! It is intended to celebrate the positives and possibilities of aging – encouraging older adults to stay active, create their bucket lists, get involved and not be limited by ageism or preconceived stereotypes from living a full life.”
New to the Active Aging Symposium for 2025
Due to the growing popularity of this senior event, Capri has relocated this year’s Symposium to Elmbrook Church which provides abundant space and parking to accommodate more attendees. “Approaching year 3, we knew that we needed a larger space to facilitate some of the exciting new activities that we have in place this year,” says Irwin. Some of these activities include goat yoga, cardio drumming, speed-friending, a Dancing with the Seniors dance exhibition and tutorial, and a fabulous Nordstrom Fashion Trends show featuring senior models from some Capri senior living communities in southeastern Wisconsin.

The anchors of the Enjoy Life Active Aging Symposium are two dynamic Keynote Speakers: Jennifer Bartolotta will be on hand to discuss Emotional Intelligence, coming to terms with loss and forging a meaningful path forward. Also, back by popular demand will be John McGivern who will delight us with his unique brand of humor and storytelling. In between these two amazing speakers, NEW in 2025 will be an interactive comedy performance by Comedy Sportz that is guaranteed to make your sides ache!

Amidst the outstanding speakers and activities is the foundation of the Symposium, 40+ incredible “enjoy life” exhibitors featuring products and services designed to help seniors live better lives. Capri groups exhibitors into four areas: Learning, Adventure, Health & Wellness and Community. Melissa Asmondy, Director of Lifestyle Enrichment for Capri who spearheads the exhibitor floor says, “This year we have a wider variety of incredible exhibitors than ever before! From financial health to physical health, downsizing to dancing, bra fittings to outdoor furniture… there will truly be exhibitors on hand to meet every senior’s need and interest.”

The Enjoy Life Active Aging Symposium is an event attendees can truly make their own by choosing what they want to attend, see and do. To improve the experience this year, there will be new food choices and plenty of seating for people to relax, eat and socialize throughout the day. “We heard comments from past Symposiums that attendees wanted more food options, so Cousins and Chick-Fil-A will be on hand throughout the day along with the church coffee shop selling food and refreshments.
