Community Engagement

As a locally-owned and operated company, Capri’s employees and residents are encouraged and empowered to invest their time and resources for the betterment of the larger community. Social responsibility and corporate citizenship is at the core of who we are: we care for and invest in others.

From Capri’s early days, Jim Tarantino has served as a philanthropic leader, investing his time, talent and treasure in causes and organizations important to him and to our residents. Today, almost 100% of Capri’s leaders serve on non-profit boards throughout southern Wisconsin and give generously of their time. Combined, residents and Capri employees annually donate thousands of hours and dollars.

Our Values

Our values guide us in fulfilling our mission. To help us remember our values, we use the acronym CARES:

OMMITTED TO THE RESIDENT EXPERIENCE

TTENTIVE TO INDIVIDUAL NEEDS

ESPECTFUL TO ALL

NGAGED IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY

ERVE WITH INTEGRITY

good neighbors

First and foremost, each Capri campus is uniquely local and deeply rooted in its community. Regardless of location, every Capri location has earned an unparalleled reputation for being a good neighbor and engaged and invested in a wide range of locally-focused activities and organizations.

volunteerism

Volunteerism is woven into every part of Capri. Our residents lead many of those efforts in partnership with their neighbors and neighborhoods. Capri employees contribute hundreds of hours by volunteering on behalf of various organizations, working with industry groups, sharing knowledge and best practices with caregivers, and supporting the work of other providers to enhance service delivery for all seniors.

investing our resources

Capri’s top priority is the well-being of our residents. At times, some of our residents lose their ability to pay for needed services. As good corporate citizens, we believe we have an obligation of helping to meet the needs of the local community through sharing of various resources and supplies, as well as through financial support to various causes for community benefit.

opening our doors

Nearly every Capri campus has wonderful physical space that can be shared with the greater community. We love to open our doors to local groups, agencies and non-profit organizations to hold events, meetings, programs and activities throughout the course of the year. Opening our doors brings Capri and the greater community together, which makes for stronger, healthier communities.

mentoring our future

Our future is squarely focused around cultivating a compassionate and prepared pipeline of talent. We work in partnership with high schools and colleges in unique workforce development partnerships, youth apprenticeships and shadowing experiences. And, many of our residents mentor students from nearby schools through penpal programs, after-school help, and other support.
