Capri Veterans Take Flight!
June 12, 2015 (WAUKESHA, WI) - World War II and Korean War veterans who live in Capri Senior Communities took off on dream flights in a 1940's Boeing Stearman - the airplane used to train military aviators in the late 30's and 40's. Each participant took a 15- to 20-minute flight soaring 1,000 feet above the heads of the participants' friends, family, and neighbors.
The flights were courtesy of Ageless Aviation Dreams, a non-profit organization founded by Darryl Fisher to honor U.S. military veterans living in long-term care communities. Since its founding in 2011, Ageless Aviation Dreams has provided more than 500 flights to veterans worldwide.
These exhilarating flights took place on Wednesday, June 10th at Timmerman Airport.
