Brian Lerch, RN, Executive Director

As the Executive Director of the Engel Haus, Brian Lerch does whatever it takes to help residents feel more comfortable in their new home.  Brian is a wonderful addition to the already outstanding team at The Gables of Germantown.  Brian already feels like part of the family at the Engel Haus and says, “I feel like I am going to a second home instead of going to a job.”

Anyone that has stopped in for a visit at the Gables of Germantown will agree that this is truly a unique and special community! Brian attributes the cheerful atmosphere to his residents and their families, volunteers and staff.  Brian says, “I believe that everyone contributes to the home-like atmosphere we all experience at the Engel Haus. We have an amazing team that is very invested in the lives of our residents.”  With the help of friendly staff and gracious volunteers, the Engel Haus hosts a multitude of activities and special events. Whether you want to get on the bus to go shopping or just stay in to play cards, you will always feel right at home at the Engel Haus. Brian says, “We always do whatever we can to make the Engel Haus a fun place to call home.”

Brian has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Concordia University in Mequon and has many years of experience working with seniors.  His past work experience includes working as an Assisted Living Director, Clinical Nurse Liaison, and Visiting Nurse.  Although he has spent much of his professional career in the healthcare industry, Assisted Living seems to hold a special place in Brian’s heart.  While attending nursing school, Brian worked as an Assisted Living Caregiver and often reflects back on the fond memories he had shared with his residents.  Brian says, “I think the Assisted Living environment is the perfect fit for me.  I enjoy helping people and find it very rewarding!”

Before Brian began his journey into the healthcare industry he spent the majority of his childhood years exploring the great outdoors!  Brian grew up in Sussex, Wisconsin on 14 acres of land.  When Brian is not spending time with the residents at the Engel Haus, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Jennifer and his dog, Becca.  He also volunteers for the Salvation Army.  Brian says “If you see me bell ringing this holiday season for Salvation Army, come say hello and drop some money in the bucket!”
