Andy Lange, Executive Director

As the Executive Director of the Engel Haus at Gables of Germantown, Andy Lange tries to make each resident feel at home and puts great effort into learning what is important to each resident in order to make sure that the Engel Haus is capable of providing a service that continually meets those needs. Andy believes that a resident’s home should reflect their interest, tastes, and wants and not just their care related needs. 

Growing up on Milwaukee’s South Side, Andy spent much of his childhood participating in athletics and spending time with friends and family. He then went on to achieve a Bachelor’s of Science in Healthcare Administration from UW-Milwaukee and a Master’s in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch and currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Healthcare Administration Program at UW-Milwaukee. 

Andy has served in various capacities within the long-term care industry for the past 9 years. He has managed a skilled nursing facility, Independent Living Homes, RCAC and CBRF communities. As the Executive Director of the Engel Haus at Gables of Germantown, Andy recognizes the importance of creating a strong relationship with residents and their families. “Establishing honest, clear, and open communication with families and residents is important in developing strong relationships. Developing a partnership with families, seniors, and the other members of their care continuum is important to maximizing their quality of life,” Andy states. 

According to Andy, the people make the place at the Engel Haus! Andy refers to the staff and residents as the very best thing about the Engel Haus. Those that work and live at the Gables of Germantown-Engel Haus help make it the unique family it is. 

Andy takes pride in being a hands-on leader and works hard to be very responsive to the staff’s challenges and ideas. " I feel my approach to operations regularly takes into account the impact decisions have on staff and their ability to come to work everyday with less stress. Making decisions that help create this environment results in our residents receiving the best our staff have to offer,” Andy states.

When Andy is not spending time at Engel Haus his interests include personal fitness, community outreach, cooking, biking and reading. He is also regularly involved in community events such as volunteer work, charitable events, and supporting local farmer’s markets.
