A New Way of Life For Seniors Begins When They Join the Team at Wilson Commons!

Bobbie Rezutek is the Manager of the Chopin building and the ranch homes at Wilson Commons. Managing 169 apartment homes and ranches can only be accomplished with the teamwork of an extremely efficient office crew. Bobbie’s assistant, Monika, wears many hats, while the housekeeper and maintenance personnel keep the buildings in tip top shape. The many volunteers that pitch in, from residents and their family members to community friends, are vital members of the Wilson Commons Community as well. Together, they make the place bustle with energy.

Bobbie is committed to the residents and their lives here at Wilson Commons. “I am as available for the residents as I possibly can be. I try to address their particular concerns as quickly and completely as I am able and to facilitate what is feasible to meet the residents’ needs/wants. I treat the people living here with the courtesy, respect and love that I truly feel for them,” she says. When she is away from the Chopin, Bobbie enjoys all different kinds of music, walking, gardening, sports and, especially, her family – grandchild number eight will arrive in February.

There is a positive force that is evident to many visitors to the Chopin . . . almost immediately they detect a ‘buzz’ in the building. What is it? What is the secret? The answer is attitude and vitality! The residents are always going, going, gone! They’re gone shopping, gone golfing and fishing, gone to the casino, gone on vacation and so on. Many Wilson residents volunteer right on campus. Others volunteer at hospitals and churches. Many spend time with their grandchildren. Residents are seen throughout the buildings and grounds at Wilson enjoying the library, card games, church services and other activities. They enjoy socializing with each other and patronizing the on-site Prelude restaurant. Wilson Commons is situated on seven acres of land, directly south of scenic Wilson Park, so there is unlimited opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while living close to all the conveniences and amenities of the very friendly south side of Milwaukee.

Bobbie feels that the greatest quality of the campus is found in – absolutely, without a doubt-- the residents! “Without them we would have an apartment building and ranch houses; nothing more. It is the residents who are the Life of the Community we have here – the caring, warmth and laughter; the special times both happy and sad, that we all share,” she explains.
