Julie Nelson, Community Manager

Community Manager, Julie Nelson adds a spark of personality to the already cheerful Mulberry Glen.  As manager, Julie tries to make each resident feel at home. “I make sure that all of my residents know that I have time for them,” Julie explains.   “Making their home comfortable and inviting is very important to me.”

Born and raised in Fort Atkinson, Julie is native to the Whitewater area. She also chose to attend UW-Whitewater to get her bachelor’s degree in Social Work.  As a child Julie loved to sing, dance, roller and ice skate. She even sang lead and backup vocals, and played guitar in a country rock band!

Julie has been working closely with the senior population for over 20 years.  Before becoming the Community Manager at Mulberry Glen, Julie worked in the rehab center at Fort Hospital and for St. Coletta of Wisconsin.  Throughout her career Julie took pride in being a “jack of all trades.” Her ability to complete a wide variety of tasks along with her compassion for seniors truly makes Julie the perfect woman for the job!

“I take time to listen to every suggestion,” Julie explains.  “I never say no to any ideas and the residents know that I consider their opinions very important.”  The staff at Mulberry Glen shares the same philosophy - They listen to the residents and respond quickly to whatever is presented to them. The common areas of Mulberry Glen are always filled with laughter, friendly stories and kind words – Julie’s upbeat personality only adds to this wonderful community!

When she’s not at Mulberry Glen, Julie is most likely spending time with her husband of 30 years or her three grown sons.
