Mona Schmalz

Community Manager, Safety & Employee Committee RepresentativeEmail: rschmalz@capricommunities.comMona puts her lifetime of apartment community experience to great use for the independent senior residents of Hedwig House and Three Oaks Circle! As the Community Manager of both communities, Mona does everything she can to make each resident feel special. Mona considers herself part of the Hedwig House and Three Oaks Circle family and does her best to utilize local resources to bring information about services available to the residents.
Although both communities are located near many shops, medical offices and churches, Mona tries to bring resources inside the community including Green Market Vouchers, Food for the Hungry and its bread drop-off, the Stock Box program and visits from the Milwaukee Department on Aging once each month. "I want residents to know what resources are available and how to access them. These important services often make their lives better and help them remain independent," Mona explained.
Mona has been working with seniors much of her life. She is a Member at Large for the Southwest Interfaith where she enjoys volunteering during fundraising events and helping to carry out their mission. She is also a secretary for St. Clare Management Board which provides low-income housing for people with disabilities. Mona also works part time for an auctioneer and volunteers at the Sunset Playhouse. She was even the Cub Scout Master for Pack 400 Cub Scout Troup!
Mona often receives visits from the adorable pets that have come to live with their resident companions. Once a Humane Society employee and volunteer, Mona believes that pets contribute to the well-being of the spirit and enjoys the added liveliness.
"Our community is full of heart and soul!"
