Jessica Tuschen

Lifestyle Enrichment SpecialistEmail: jtuschen@capricommunities.comJessica started at Hyland Park as their Activity Director in 2012 and is now also the Activity Director for Hyland Crossings. She loves the monthly Gain and Retain Overall Wellness (GROW) program themes and the GROW program itself. "The program keeps the residents active in all five components of wellness - physical, spiritual, social, emotional, and intellectual," said Jessica. "Residents' overall well-being is strongly impacted by keeping involved in activities. They are part of something meaningful and get to participate alongside friends." Her favorite theme is "Just Because" because there doesn't always have to be a special occasion or reason to celebrate or do something kind for someone else.
Jessica touched on the inclusiveness of residents at her community. She shared that residents will often invite new residents to activities so they feel included and feel like they already have friends there. "It really brings our community together. Sometimes a personal invitation can make a big impact."
Some of the favorite activities of residents include chair exercise, crafting, making desserts to share, musical entertainment, bingo, and social hours. "Between the staff and the residents it is really like one big family at our community," said Jessica. "Seeing the joy all the activities bring to the residents every day is the best!"

McKenna Jensen

Assistant Executive DirectorEmail: mjensen@capricommunities.comMcKenna joined Hyland Campus in January 2017. She attended UW-Eau Claire where she was on the honor roll for over three years. While in school, McKenna worked as a CNA for a memory care community. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology and business administration. Before joining Hyland Campus, she was the assistant director at a large senior community that included memory care, assisted living, and enhanced care units. "I have a passion for this field of work," said McKenna. "I look forward to meeting and building relationships with residents and their families."
She also looks forward to building strong relationships with her coworkers. "Teamwork among both management and the care team is very important to me. I am very excited to be joining this wonderful community!

Rita Knudtson

Culinary ManagerEmail: rknudtson@capricommunities.comRita has been the Culinary Manager at Hyland Park since 2015. "The people here, residents and staff alike, make working at Hyland Park so enjoyable," she said. "I remember feeling nervous about a special Sweetheart Dinner. My coworkers and residents were so positive and supportive, it made me feel better!"
Rita and her team make sure to pay close attention to all resident preferences. She notes their favorite meal to eat (and Rita's favorite meal to make) is turkey and mashed potatoes.

Ryan Wagner

Campus Executive DirectorEmail: rwagner@capricommunities.comRyan became Hyland Campus' Executive Director in January 2017. He has been in the health care industry for over 14 years and has been a caregiver, activities director, marketing director, assistant manager, and executive director in another senior community. Ryan also has his CBRF certification through the WALA Administrative Course.
He is most proud of the relationships he has built inside and outside his communities. "I have been a member of the Alzheimer's community and helped raise over $45,000 coaching and refereeing during a Blondes vs Brunettes Football Game benefiting the Alzheimer's Association." Ryan also keeps in close contact with family and hosts bi-monthly family nights to update residents and their families on campus happenings along with educational items.
"The Hyland team is going through a leadership-based training with each department. This will help them better understand best practices when it comes to providing care for our assisted living and memory care residents," said Ryan. "I love the Capri Communities team... the support I have received has been wonderful and I couldn't have asked for anything more."

Sarah Rublein

Community Relations ManagerEmail: srublein@capricommunities.comSarah joined the Hyland Campus team in April 2017. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelors of science in journalism and mass communications. She has over 15 years of professional experience in media, research and marketing, and health care industries. "My passion is senior care and I am honored to be a part of the lives of those I meet," said Sarah.
Sarah knows resident interaction is a very important part of the personalized tours she gives. She introduces her guests to current residents and engages them in conversation. "I enjoy introducing visitors to residents and I always encourage visitors to join us for a complimentary lunch," she said. "What better way to get to know your prospective neighbors than to enjoy a meal and pleasant conversation?"
When asked what sets her community apart from other senior communities, Sarah says it's all about the people. "Hyland Campus offers an incredibly warm sense of community. Residents and team members are engaged and sociable," she said. "We offer a wide variety of onsite and offsite activities that enrich the lives of our residents, with the comfort of knowing we are available to assist 24/7."

Tracey Clark

LPNEmail: tclark@capricommunities.comTracey joined Hyland Campus in June 2017. She attended DAVTI and Lake Superior College in Duluth, Minnesota, for nursing and has worked as an administrator for three other assisted living communities in and around the Madison area. She was also the Regional Director of Quality Assurance for 14 assisted living communities in Central and Southern Wisconsin.
Over the years, one of the most important lessons she has learned from someone she has helped was to see through someone else's eyes. "I learned this from an ALS patient of mine who was my age," she said.
Teamwork is very important to Tracey so she works hard to build trusting relationships with her staff as well as her residents and their loved ones. "I want to make myself available to my residents and staff to make sure we are working together well and find out what we can accomplish," said Tracey.
Tracey and her husband Jim have six children and will soon have their 13th grandchild! She has three dogs, loves to garden, and enjoys spending time redoing furniture for her antiques/collection booths.
