Carnegie Place, a senior living community located in the heart of West Allis and metropolitan Milwaukee, has become a warm and comfortable home for many senior residents who enjoy the deluxe amenities of the community and the proximity to the neighborhoods they know and love. Residents can choose from a variety of spacious one-bedroom apartment styles each with unique, charming and well-designed features. Built as a library by a grant from the Carnegie Foundation in 1904, the building was acquired and renovated into apartments by Capri Communities in 2001. Carnegie Place encourages an active, independent lifestyle balanced with comfort and security. Our location offers easy access to supermarkets, medical services, churches, restaurants and all the entertainment and activities in Milwaukee. Carnegie Place builds and maintains relationships with area business and civic organizations. These connections make it easy for our residents to participate in activities inside and outside the community. Residents at Carnegie Place are always invited to enjoy activities and entertainment provided by The Landmark of West Allis, its sister Capri Community down the road!

Beverly Johnson

Assistant ManagerEmail: bjohnson@capricommunities.comBeverly has been the Assistant Manager at The Landmark and Carnegie Place since 2006. Residents know if they have a question, need help with something or just need to talk, Beverly is always there for them. It's clear she helps make The Landmark and Carnegie resident-centered communities! Beverly also plans the monthly activity calendar and writes the community newsletter. She is always open to new suggestions: Beverly recently added a monthly billiard tournament and Mel's Country Music (resident Mel shares his collection of country music in the Cozy Room). Along with these new additions, residents also enjoy bingo, cookouts, entertainment and exercise classes. "The kindness and compassion our residents show each other is heartwarming. They go out of their way to make a newcomer feel welcome. If a resident has a loss or a bad day they try to brighten their day. If a cause needs help they are willing to pitch in."
Jason Soloninka

Jason Soloninka

Community ManagerEmail: jsoloninka@capricommunities.comCommunity Manager Jason Soloninka enjoys getting to know all of the wonderful residents at The Landmark and Carnegie Place. His approach to interacting with residents is to always smile. "A smile goes a long way and will help maintain the positive atmosphere we have here at our community," Jason explained. Jason joined the Landmark and Carnegie in mid-2014 with over 8 years of property management experience. He has an Associate's Degree in Business Management and is a Licensed Real Estate Broker. Jason became interested in the senior side of property management after volunteering at senior communities. "While volunteering, I really enjoyed spending time with the residents playing games, working on puzzles, and making their day a little bit brighter," Jason said. When asked what the very best thing about The Landmark and Carnegie Place is, Jason answered "the residents" without a moment of hesitation. "These communities are truly one big family; everyone is so caring, friendly and fun," Jason explained. "The Landmark and Carnegie Place have a one-of-a-kind team. Each member of our team has their own way of making each resident feel special, even on the bad days," Jason said. The residents and the staff make every day enjoyable! When Jason is not spending time at The Landmark and Carnegie Place he enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, playing cards, gardening, biking and anything else he can do outdoors. He also volunteers his time at Sojourner Truth House, his church, and attending events that support local dog rescues.
